A.I.C. Home
As the name already says we are living throughout Italy and our favourit sport is "Canyoning". Some of us have been doing this for some time now whilst others have just started. There is space for everybody at the A.I.C. Whether explorer, adventurer, expert, beginner, scientist. Everybody is welcome to share with us this quite unique experience in a beautiful surrounding.
Some time ago the need arised for an association dedicated to "Canyoning" only. Everything started on the Internet where thanks to "www" some of us started to exchange their views. The desire to meet personally was fulfilled at a first meeting in May 1998, followed by a second one in September 1998. So the A.I.C. is maybe the first association "born" on the Internet. While most of our administration is done electronically, people continue to meet personally.
Maybe the biggest aim is creating synergies between people. Synergies mean building up experience, know how, looking for a technical standard, organizing training courses, creating a book listing all canyons in Italy, better defending the natural resources and fighting against ignorance. Even science is playing a big role in our association as we have geologists and biologists amongst our members.
